Corporate or institutional licences may be subject to separate written agreements.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Last Updated: 14 September 2026

Chapters International (“Chapters”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to providing high-quality professional learning, training and educational services.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the conditions that apply when purchasing or cancelling courses, programmes, workshops and other learning services from Chapters International.

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights available to you under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

1. Self-Paced Online Courses

For self-paced online courses purchased directly through Chapters International, you may request a refund within 7 calendar days of purchase, provided that you have not substantially accessed or completed the course.

A course will generally be considered substantially accessed where you have:

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to Chapters International.

Where a refund is approved, access to the relevant course and associated learning materials will be terminated.

2. Downloadable and Digital Products

Due to the nature of digital products, downloadable materials that have already been accessed or downloaded are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable consumer protection legislation.

This may include:

If a digital product is defective, inaccessible or materially different from its description, please contact us so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, replace the product or provide another suitable remedy.

3. Live Online Workshops and Programmes

For scheduled live online workshops, webinars or facilitated programmes:

Cancellation more than 14 calendar days before the programme:
You may request a refund or transfer your registration to another available date or programme, subject to availability.

Cancellation between 7 and 14 calendar days before the programme:
You may transfer your registration to another available programme or receive a credit towards a future Chapters International programme. A cash refund may not be available.

Cancellation fewer than 7 calendar days before the programme:
No refund will normally be provided. However, you may nominate another suitable participant to attend in your place, subject to any programme-specific requirements.

Failure to attend a scheduled session without prior notification will normally be treated as a cancellation and will not qualify for a refund.

4. In-Person Training and Workshops

In-person workshops may involve venue, facilitator, travel, catering, materials and other costs committed in advance.

Cancellation terms for individual public workshops will be stated during registration where they differ from this policy.

Unless otherwise stated:

Where a participant cannot attend, Chapters International may permit a substitute participant to attend in their place.

5. Corporate and Custom Programmes

Corporate training, instructional design, curriculum development, consulting, customised workshops and other commissioned services are generally governed by a separate proposal, quotation, statement of work or service agreement.

The cancellation and payment terms contained in that agreement will take precedence over this general policy.

Where Chapters International has already incurred agreed expenses or completed work before cancellation, the client remains responsible for those costs and for payment for work completed.

Deposits or booking fees for customised programmes may be non-refundable where this is stated in the relevant proposal or agreement.

6. CPD, Accredited or Assessed Programmes

Where a programme includes CPD recognition, accreditation, assessment, moderation, certification or other third-party processes, additional fees or conditions may apply.

Fees already paid to external accreditation, assessment, moderation or certification bodies may be non-refundable once those processes have commenced.

Any programme-specific conditions will be communicated during registration where applicable.

7. Payment Plans

Where a course or programme is purchased through an instalment or payment plan, registration constitutes a commitment to the agreed payment schedule unless cancellation rights apply under this policy or applicable law.

Stopping participation in a programme does not automatically cancel outstanding payments.

If a cancellation is approved, any outstanding payment obligations will be adjusted in accordance with the applicable refund or cancellation terms.

8. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Chapters International

Occasionally, Chapters International may need to cancel, postpone or reschedule a workshop, programme or facilitated session due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where Chapters International cancels a programme entirely, participants will normally be offered:

Where a programme is rescheduled, registered participants will be notified as soon as reasonably possible and offered appropriate alternatives.

Chapters International is not responsible for indirect costs incurred by participants, such as travel, accommodation or loss of income, except where required by law.

9. Promotions, Discounts and Special Offers

Courses purchased using promotional codes, special offers, bundled pricing or discounted rates remain subject to this policy unless different refund conditions were clearly stated at the time of purchase.

Promotional discounts cannot normally be applied retrospectively to purchases already completed.

10. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method where possible.

Processing times may depend on the payment provider, bank or financial institution involved.

Any payment processing, banking or currency conversion charges that are outside Chapters International’s control may affect the final amount received, where permitted by applicable law.

11. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

Refund, cancellation or transfer requests must be submitted in writing and should include:

Please send requests to:

Chapters International
Website: www.chaptersint.com
Email: [email protected]

We will review requests fairly and in accordance with this policy and applicable consumer protection legislation.

12. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or override rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or other applicable South African legislation.

Where applicable legislation provides you with greater rights than those contained in this policy, the applicable legislation will prevail.
